Playing at West Point

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:47 pm

I used to love to playing for the cadets at West Point. Over the years between 1985 and 1998, I had many opportunities to do so.

Here is a look at a performance in The First Class Club.

Onstage at Benny’s Lounge

This was another night at Benny’s Lounge.

He was an incredible bassist and harmonizing vocalist. He left us to play and tour full time with the Jimmy Sturr Polka Band. He traveled all over the country and said he really liked it. Then he got married and moved to Tennessee . . . never heard from him again.

Bill Langan played with us for quite a few years.

This was the most musicians that ever appeared onstage at one time under the name “Formation”.

It was at West Point in the Cadet Restaurant in 1986 (I think).

Another Cadet Restaurant picture . . . this was St Patrick’s Day 1985.

This gig was also in the Cadet restaurant–I had Billy Murphy on electric guitar at this 1990 show.

Here is one of the flyers that went out during the week before the show:

The FIRST CLASS CLUB was a favorite gig of ours. In this photograph,
Paul “Butch”  Mastranda played bass for me.
